The Redwood

The Redwood Yearbook is Santa Clara University's official yearbook (est. 1903) aimed to "document, celebrate, and encapsulate the University’s vibrant learning environment and humanity while promoting teamwork and leadership." (The Redwood Official Site)

I was a page designer on The Redwood from 2022 to 2026. Instagram Highlight

As a page designer, I designed 5-6 spreads each quarter using Adobe Indesign, and communicated daily with the Design Director, page designers, photographers, and copywriters. At bi-weekly meetings, I gave design feedback to my teammates and reviewed page proofs for the final publication.

In senior year (2025-2026) of college, I was promoted to the role of Design Director. Alongside the responsibilities of a designer, I worked with the Editor-in-Chief to develop a comprehensive design guide that was used by a team of student designers. I also led a short workshop that reviews Adobe InDesign, as well as all design team meetings. I communicated daily with the editor, all designers, copywriters, and photographers. Finally, I also worked to edit the spreads alongside the editor at the end of the year, and had a say in the cover of the book.
